REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9034 March 12, 2001
AN ACT ESTABLISHING AN ENGINEERING DISTRICT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS FOR THE FIRST AND SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS OF THE PROVINCE OF LAGUNA AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1
There shall be established an engineering district of the Department of Public Works and Highways that will be responsible for public works functions in the First and Second Congressional Districts of the Province of Laguna.
Section 2
The said engineering district shall comprise all municipalities within the first and second congressional districts of the Province of Laguna.
Section 3
The district engineer and other engineers, and such other personnel as may be necessary, shall be appointed in accordance with law.
Section 4
The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its approval thereafter, such sum as may be necessary for the maintenance and continued operation of the engineering district office shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Section 5
This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on April 27, 1999 and November 15, 2000, respectively.
