[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 847, May 23, 1953 ]
AN ACT TRANSFERRING THE MEDICAL AND DENTAL SERVICES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1
The Medical and Dental Services in the Public Schools which is now functioning as a division of Bureau of Health, since January first, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, is hereby transferred or returned back the Department of Education as a division of that Department where it originally belonged from nineteen hundred and forty-six to nineteen hundred and fifty:*Provided,*That the supervision of hygiene and sanitation shall be exercised by the Department of Health.
Section 2
All laws, acts, executive orders, or parts thereof, inconsistent with the provision of this act are hereby repealed.
Section 3
This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
Enacted on May 23, 1953, without the Executive approval.
