[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6291, June 19, 1971 ]
AN ACT CONVERTING NARVACAN PROVINCIAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF NARVACAN, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS SUR, INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, TO BE KNOWN AS NARVACAN NATIONAL GENERAL HIGH SCHOOL AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1
Narvacan Provincial High School is hereby converted into a national high school to be known as Narvacan National General High School. The curriculum shall include short practical courses for training in vocations needed in the locality which shall be open to elementary school graduates. The Secretary of Education is hereby empowered to reorganize the said school accordingly.
Section 2
Upon organization of Narvacan National General High School, the assets, liabilities, personnel, equipment and records of Narvacan Provincial High School shall stand transferred to said Narvacan National General High School.
Section 3
The sum of two hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the operation and maintenance of the said school in a addition to its matriculation and tuition fees, and other revenues.
Section 4
This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
