[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6287, June 19, 1971 ]
AN ACT CONSTITUTING THE FIFTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT OF THE PROVINCE OF CEBU INTO A SEPARATE HIGHWAY ENGINEERING DISTRICT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1
Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, the Fifth Congressional District of the Province of Cebu is hereby constituted into a separate highway engineering district, to be known as the Fourth Highway Engineering District of the Province of Cebu, with principal office at the Municipality of Samboan, same province.
The district engineer for said engineering district shall be appointed in accordance with existing laws.
Section 2
The Secretary of Public Works and Communications is hereby authorized to appropriate the necessary sums, out of any unalloted funds and/or savings under the Department to carry out the provisions of this Act and to transfer the necessary personnel, records, property, equipment and other supplies and materials, to carry out the provisions of this Act.
Section 3
This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
