REPUBLIC ACT No. 6136

An Act Amending Subparagraph Seven of Section Seventeen of Republic Act Numbered Eight Hundred Seventy-Seven, as Amended, Known as the Philippine Nursing Law

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1

Subparagraph seven of Section seventeen of Republic Act Numbered Eight hundred seventy-seven, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows:

> "(7) The application and execution of legal orders in writing of physicians concerning treatments and medication including the application of hypodermic and intramuscular injections: Provided, That intravenous and other injections may be administered under the direction and in the presence of a physician: Provided, further, That the precious order in writing of a physician shall not be necessary if the application and execution of such order is made in the presence of said physician. > > "This section shall not apply to students in schools and colleges of nursing who perform nursing services under supervision of their instructors and professors of nursing and to exchange professors of nursing."

Section 2

This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
