[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5752, June 21, 1969 ] AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MUNICIPAL AND CITY FORESTS, TREE PARKS, OR WATERSHEDS, AMENDING FOR THAT PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE "LOCAL AUTONOMY ACT". Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1

Republic Act Numbered twenty-two hundred sixty-four, otherwise known as the "Local Autonomy Act", is hereby amended to include the following section: "Section 3-A. Every municipality or city shall exert efforts to establish, develop and maintain a permanent forest, tree parks or watershed within public land owned by such municipality or city with an aggregate size equivalent to at least two per cent of its entire area within two years from the approval of this Act:Provided, That the forest, park, or watershed may be located in one or more places within the municipality. The municipal or city ordinance covering this project shall be consistent with the rules and regulations that the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources is hereby authorized to promulgate to fully implement the intent and objective of this Act."

Section 2

There is hereby authorized to be appropriated from the Reforestation Fund the amount of seven hundred fifty thousand pesos (₱750,000) as aid to municipalities and cities for the establishment, development, and maintenance of municipal forests. Thereafter, the said amount or such amount as may be necessary shall be included in the General Appropriations Act.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval
