[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5698, June 21, 1969 ] AN ACT CREATING THE POSITIONS OF ASSISTANT CITY FISCAL IN THE CITY OF BUTUAN, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION TWENTY-FOUR OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF BUTUAN. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled: Section 1. The first paragraph of Section twenty-four of Republic Act Numbered Five hundred twenty-three, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Butuan, is hereby amended to read as follows: > "Section 24. The city fiscal and his assistants- His powers, duties and compensation. - The law department shall consist of the city fiscal who shall be the chief legal adviser of the city, and four assistants who shall be known respectively as the first, second, third, and fourth assistant city fiscals. Said assistant city fiscals shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines, with the consent of the Commission on Appointments. The compensation of the city fiscal, the first, second, third, and fourth assistant city fiscals shall be that provided by law for officials of the same rank and performing the same functions. The city fiscal shall have the following powers and duties:" Section 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. Approved, June 21, 1969.
