REPUBLIC ACT No. 5088

An Act Converting Eulogio Rodriguez Vocational High School into the Eulogio Rodriguez Memorial School of Arts and Trades and Amending for This Purpose Certain Sections of Republic Act Numbered Four Thousand Seventy-Two, Entitled "An Act Providing for the Establishment of a Vocational Technical Department of the Eulogio Rodriguez Vocational High School in the City of Manila

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1

Eulogio Rodriguez Vocational High School in the City of Manila is hereby converted into a school of arts and trades to be known as the Eulogio Rodriguez Memorial School of Arts and Trades.

Section 2

Section one of Republic Act Numbered Four thousand seventy-two is hereby amended to read as follows:

> "Sec. 1. The school is hereby authorized to offer technical education courses and such other opportunity courses essential to meet the needs of Manila and other metropolitan area."

Section 3

Section two of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:

> "Sec. 2. The Eulogio Rodriguez Memorial School of Arts and Trades shall be headed by a superintendent of arts and trades whose salary shall be the same amount as that of the superintendent in a first class city. The present head of the school shall become its first superintendent and the assistant principal shall become the head of the technical education department. Thereafter, the superintendent shall be appointed by the Secretary of Education upon the recommendation of the Director of Vocational Education. The head of the technical education department, together with the other personnel of this department, shall be appointed by the Director of Vocational Education upon the recommendation of its superintendent subject to existing rules and regulations."

Section 4

Section three of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:

> "Sec. 3. The head of the technical education department shall receive not less than eight thousand four hundred pesos per annum and each technical instructor shall receive not less than four thousand eight hundred pesos per annum."

Section 5

Section four of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:
