REPUBLIC ACT No. 395

An Act Making the Positions of Mayor and Vice-Mayor in the City of Bacolod Elective

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1

The positions of mayor and vice-mayor of the City of Bacolod shall be elective, notwithstanding provisions to the contrary in the Act creating said city and amendments thereto. They shall hold office for a term of four years, and shall be elected by the qualified voters of the city.

Section 2

This Act shall take effect on the next regular election for provincial and city officials. All provisions of Commonwealth Act Numbered Three hundred and twenty-six as amended, known as the Charter of the City of Bacolod, inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, are hereby repealed.
