AN ACT TO AMEND THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF SECTION THIRTEEN OF COMMONWEALTH ACT NUMBERED THREE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX, AS AMENDED.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1

The first paragraph of section thirteen of Commonwealth Act Numbered Three hundred and twenty-six, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows :

SEC. 13.Constitution and organization of the City Council. The City Council shall be the legislative body of the city and shall be composed of the city mayor, the vice-mayor, the city engineer, the city treasurer and seven councilors elected by popular vote. The mayor shall act as president of the council. Until the induction of their elective successors in the next general election for city officials, the present appointive councilors shall continue to hold office and any vacancy shall be filled in accordance with existing law.

Section 2

Effectivity.This Act shall take effect on the next regular election for city officials.
