REPUBLIC ACT No. 2048

An Act Creating the Municipality of Callang, Province of Isabela

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. The barrios of Callang, Eden, Babanuang, Cabaritan, Sta

Cruz, Malalinta, Mararigue, Calaocan, and Caraniogan, Municipality of Roxas, Province of Isabela, are separated from said municipality and are constituted into a new municipality, to be known as the Municipality of Callang, Province of Isabela, with the seat of government at the site of the present barrio of Callang.

Section 2

The first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines with the concurrence of the Commission on Appointments and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected in the next general election for provincial and municipal officials and shall have duly qualified.

Section 3

This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
