[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 12213, May 21, 2025 ]
AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE SOUTHERN TAGALOG REGIONAL HOSPITAL IN THE CITY OF BACOOR, PROVINCE OF CAVITE, FROM ONE HUNDRED (100) TO THREE HUNDRED (300) BEDS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1
The authorized bed capacity of the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital in the City of Bacoor, Province of Cavite, shall be increased from one hundred (100) to three (hundred (300) beds.
Section 2
The existing professional healthcare services and facilities of the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital shall also be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity as provided in Section 1 hereof.
Section 3
The existing workforce of the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital, which includes doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly.
Section 4
The Secretary of Health shall, after consultation with the Medical Center Chief of the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital, and in coordination with the Secretary of Budget and Management and the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission, determine the additional new positions to be created.
Section 5
The Secretary of Health shall immediately include in the Department's program the implementation of this Act, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Section 6
If any provision of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts of provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 7
All laws, decrees, executive orders, issuances, and rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed or amended accordingly.
Section 8
This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives on July 30, 2024, amended by the Senate of the Philippines on February 3, 2025, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on February 5, 2025.
