AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE LAGUNA PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL - SAN PEDRO DISTRICT HOSPITAL IN THE CITY OF SAN PEDRO, PROVINCE OF LAGUNA, FROM FIFTEEN (15) TO FIFTY (50) BEDS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1
The authorized bed capacity of the Laguna Provincial Hospital - San Pedro District Hospital in the City of San Pedro, Province of Laguna, shall be increased from fifteen (15) to fifty (50) beds. Any future increase in bed capacity shall consistent with the hospital development plan that shall be prepared by the Chief of Hospital of the Laguna Provincial Hospital - San Pedro District Hospital and submitted to the Department of Health.
Section 2
The existing professional healthcare services and facilities of the Laguna Provincial Hospital - San Pedro District Hospital shall also be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity as provided in Section 1 hereof.
Section 3
The existing workforce of the Laguna Provincial Hospital - San Pedro District Hospital, which includes doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly.
Section 4
The Provincial Government of Laguna shall provide the necessary funds to cover the maintenance and other operating expenses of the Laguna Provincial Hospital - San Pedro District Hospital. It shall also appropriate funds for the additional human resource complement to support the increase in bed capacity and the corresponding upgrading of its service facilities and professional healthcare services.
Section 5
The Secretary of Health shall include in the Department's subsidy program, support for the capital outlay requirements of the Laguna Provincial Hospital - San Pedro District Hospital.
Section 6
If any provision of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 7
All other laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
Section 8
This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which is originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives on May 8 , 2024, amended by the Senate of the Philippines on February 3, 2025, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on February 4, 2025.
