REPUBLIC ACT No. 1204

An Act to Amend the First Paragraph of Section Twenty-Four of Act Numbered Thirty-Nine Hundred and Ninety-Two, as Amended

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1

The first paragraph of section twenty-four of Act Numbered Thirty-nine hundred and ninety-two, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:

"Sec. 24. Drivers license, fees, examination. -Every person who desires personally to operate any motor vehicle should make application to the Chief, Motor Vehicles Office, or his deputies for a license to drive motor vehicles: Provided, However, That no person shall be issued a professional drivers license unless he has first obtained a police clearance, which shall be issued without charge or fee, from the police department of the city or municipality in which he resides: And Provided, further, That no person should be issued a professional drivers license who is suffering from highly contagious diseases, such as, advanced tuberculosis, gonorrhea, syphilis, and the like".

Section 2

This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
