REPUBLIC ACT No. 1203

An Act Creating the Municipality of Ma-Ayon in the Province of Capiz

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1

The "arrabal" of Ma-ayon of the Municipality of Pontevedra, Province of Capiz, is hereby separated from the Municipality of Pontevedra and created into a new and separate municipality to be known as the Municipality of Ma-ayon.

Section 2

The said new Municipality of Ma-ayon shall include the following barrios: Ma-ayon, Fernandez, Piña, Balighot, Batabat, Guia, Tuburan, and Canapi-an Sun.

Section 3

Upon the approval of this Act or as soon thereafter as practicable, the President of the Philippines shall appoint the elective officials of the new municipality who shall hold office until their successors shall have been duly elected in the general elections next following the approval of this Act and have qualified.

Section 4

This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
