[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 12002, June 13, 2024 ]

AN ACT CREATING A DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE IN THE FIRST LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT OF THE PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1

A district engineering office of the Department of Public Works and Highways is hereby created in the First Legislative District, Province of Negros Occidental, to be located in the City of San Carlos, and referred to as the Negros Occidental Fifth District Engineering Office.

Section 2

The Negros Occidental Fifth District Engineering Office shall serve the cities of Escalante and San Carlos and the municipalities of Toboso, Calatrava and Salvador Benedicto, all located in the First Legislative District of the Province of Negros Occidental.

Section 3

The Secretary of Public Works and Highways shall include in the Department's program the operationalization of the Negros Occidental Fifth District Engineering Office, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 4

This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines on March 21, 2023 and March 13, 2024, respectively.
