PLDT MyDSL Sucks – The Saga Continues

I read about Marc Macalua’s lousy time with PLDT MyDSL. All I can say is — Dude, I know how you feel. I’ve been languishing with MyDSL forever because it’s the only damn DSL service available in my area. Frequent lost connections, extremely sluggish download times (way below what’s being advertised) and outages are just some highlights of my love-hate affair with MyDSL.

In an act of utter desperation, I took up LiveJournal user faithlessphil’s advice on switching my DNS to somehow improve my online plight. According to him, PLDT had run out of IP addresses that they are now taking them from as far as Johannesburg. Ok, that might be a stretch. But who cares? PLDT MyDSL is crap. He recommends using OpenDNS’s faster and more secure DNS servers. I’m on a Linksys wireless network. Setting it up took under a minute and there’s no registration required!

The results?

I have noticed a bit of an improvement in accessing US-based sites such as Friendster and MySpace and my sites got a bump up in response and loading times as well. As for downloading, speed improved about 15-20%. Maybe it’s psychological, but i’ll take all the help that I can get. I’ll see how OpenDNS lives up to its promise in the coming days. But from all the buzz it’s been getting, looks like it’s the Real Mccoy.

  1. I’ve had PLDT MyDSL for a year now and the connection just dropped once, and it lasted for two days. However, it was an outage that affected the whole area, I think.

I think Smart BRO and BayanTel DSL services are even crappier, judging from the complaints I keep hearing from my friends.

  2. I’ve had PLDT MyDSL for over a year now, and the only time I got disconnected was when the whole area was disconnected too. It lasted for two days. My UL and DL bandwidth is stable. My connection doesn’t get dropped for no reason either. When it does, it’s because there was a current surge or something.

Smart BRO and BayanTel DSL is crappier, judging from the complaints I’ve been hearing.

    Maybe this is area-related?

  3. Wow!! Your article was a big help! Previously their were sites i can’t enter, but after i followed the instructions on how to open my dns everything was fixed. Thank you po!

  4. This is the worst service I have encountered over many countries and 3 continents.
I suspect pldt operate an undisclosed download limit which may explain the dropping out of the line – almost every day in the afternoons in my case.
I’m sure they also censor certain sites – I had trouble accessing ‘The Daily Mail’ – you know what the spelling’s like here!!!!!!!!!
Also, their customer service is full of platitudes and unresponsive but I don’t think they give a toss about their customers.

  5. thanks for the tip on openDNS. im with bill about pldt. i think they have an unwritten rule on how much information your dsl can recieve. I download alot, sometimes leaving it overnight and by mid to late afternoon, i have little to no internet connection. Everythings so slow and it randomly just disconnects completely.

  6. I have just had enough of PLDT as well. Since typhoon Milenyo struck, we still don’t have a dial tone, let alone our PLDT service. PLDT kept saying they are working on it, but for more than 21 days? It shows how bad their service are. We paid the Septembe16 to October 15. The service was not available since September 28 and we received a bill for the next pay period. We checked with our local PLDT about it and they said if we don’t pay, they will cut off our line. What line? it wasn’t working and we have a few more days of paid service we haven’t received.

  7. PLDT sucks big time. Ever since typhoon Milenyo hit Manila, our DSL and landline are in total wreck and thank heavens that until now, no PLDT technician shows up. And what irritates me the most is that these technicians are such big liars. When I call 171, the agents would say that a technician already went to our “dorm” and that there’s nobody home. I mean, come on. our dormitory has an on-duty guard 24/7! and fuck them. there was this one time when the agent said that they were able to talk to my brother to verify that our line and internet are ok. funny thing is, my brother is staying in Palawan for almost 2 (TWO!) years now. everytime we call them (from Sept 29 up until now) those retarded fucked up agents will tell us to wait (for nothing) and we keep on receiving bills. Now that’s quality service for us. And I’ve made a whole new meaning for PLDT; Pure Lags and DownTimes. Bitches

  8. I think it’s a hit-and-miss affair for any service. What happens is dependent on where your DSL is connected, the state of the server, etc. For example, some experience lots of problems with an ISP but others who live elsewhere don’t. Some have slow Internet speeds but not a lot of drops while others have the opposite. Customer service does well in some places and at particular times but in other situations don’t. What a friend recommends is great in his place doesn’t do well in your neighborhood. Sometimes a service does fine for several months until, say, the server is replaced, and a problem in configuration of the server causes headaches for the next few weeks or months. On top of all of that, you can’t leave because of the lock-down period.

The best you can probably do is to ask people who live nearby about the performance of a particular service. Of course it’d be great if companies can offer a trial period.

  9. PLDT sucks more than most Filipino’s realise they are conning you in everyway.
DSL? Why do they call it DSL not broadband like the rest of the world.
Because its not broadband, broadband starts at 1Mbs they give you 512kbs the rest of the world went from dial up straight to 1mbs so why do PLDT give 512kbs or less. When the rest of the world is now on 8 to 10mbs and the price how much do you think 8 to 10Mbs cost in other counties less than 999 peso that’s cheaper than PLDT charge for 512kbs and when you consider they get paid 10 times more in Europe but pay less for internet, in real terms it works out in the Philippines you should get 10mbs for just 99peso a month yes that’s not a typo if you work it on a percentage of your wage compared to Europe it is 99peso a month.

I have used internet providers in many countries and PLDT is the worst I have used they even come behind many African countries and as for the rest of Asia its like racing a Jeepney in a Formula 1 GP race.
I know foreign internet providers are knocking at the door waiting to come in and provide fast good internet to the Philippines but the law protects PLDT and means you pay a high price for slow internet.
The bad internet in your country is losing you so much investment that the Philippines needs losing the country jobs as well.

  10. I do agree with B.G. Epps. The law protects pldt and that law was created by people who has shares and interest or crony of the past government who still has influence as of today. Our governemt officials salary, even the President herself is just equal or less than that of a supervisor in a small company. So I do wonder how will they ever recover that cost they spent during the election period? And even the minimum wage law is not being implemented well for our local government officials?

Internet may be costly in our area, but what can we do? there is no other choice, because they are the only one who have those facilities, and there is no competitors.

  11. Smart bro can not access all internet website. I suspect because of unfair marketing. Certain Netblock address range owned by competing companies like PLDT DSL are blocked. Dis means, di mo ma access some local websites hosted by other big providers. Why will you subscribe to a company that controls what you surf ? I want to surf at a webpage hosted through a competitor’s IP address, but I can’t because smart bro has blocked the competition punishing in effect smart bro subscribers. Kaya yun, I moved to PLDT just because smart bro used unfair biz practices.

PLDT also sucks but I’d rather choose the far lesser evil.

  12. @MI I’m on Bayantel DSL and I’ve had a few problems with them. I’m happy to say that their customer support is great, and my problems were resolved within 24 hours. I also got a rebate once, they do this when I still have a problem after 24 hours. Anyway, my boyfriend is on PLDT DSL and it sucks a hell lot. Customer support is non-existent. So heck, I’d recommend Bayantel DSL any day. I guess their problems are area-related. Or maybe not!

  13. pldt sucks BIG time!! wala kami linya for almost 3 months. last january and february, wala kami linya. tapos nung march and april, nagkaron. nung may and june, big na naman inalis. tapos nung 1st week of july, nilagay nila. pero bigla ulit pinutol dahil daw hindi daw kami nagbabayad ng bill for two months. then, after that, we paid them them. ngayong august pa lang ulit nila nilagay yung linya namin. pero walang dsl. sobra na pldt. ang kapal ng mga mukha nila. hindi naman kami pumapalya sa pagbayad ng bill. meron o walang linya, nagbabayad pa rin kami. unfair naman ata yung ganung situation. 🙁 grabe talaga pldt.

  14. @B. G Epps

    Bano amputa

  15. to ASD:

I think what B. G. Epps is saying is that if you look at the proportion of our salary versus how much we are paying for the internet — we are paying a bigger percentage of our salary just to have an internet connection and it is SLOWER.

needless to say, I agree with his point, we are loosing business because of the incompetence of our biggest Telco provider. I for one experienced it first hand though i’d rather not go into the details.

My point is I think we should push for the deregularization or something (not really sure what the right legal term is) to let other players enter our market and offer competitive rates for us. More choices is always a good thing for us consumers…

Though at the end of the day, ang kita napupunta sa ibang bansa, not ours… then again do we really want that?

  16. PLDT sucks. They have been overcharging me. You know the Guild Wars promo last year? I availed it last March 27, 2006. It’s supposed to be charging me for 1 year only but until now they’re still billing me with that!

Another thing is I lost connection from July 23, 2007 to August 2, 2007 and it’s their fault because they already told us that the error was on their side (Loss of configuration or something like that). They told me that they will give me a rebate… but my billing came and they didn’t even deduct it!

I’ve been complaining to PLDT every year for 6 years already. I’m a PLDT myDSL Professional subscriber since 2001. That’s 3000 a month and they still have crap service.

PLDT sucks I wish I could bomb the corrupt people there.

oh and another thing… yeah i’m using the professional package… but my speed is just the same as their plan 999. sucks.

  17. I tried opendns it works but the download speed does not improve. It will help load webpages faster but still what speed you subscribed in pldt will still be the same. I currently have a problem and it’s been four days that my connection slowed down to half the speed I was used to. I’ll try to use opendns if I get decent download rate but slow webpage loading.

  18. dear mr bin laden. kindly bombed our telephone company here in the philippines especially PLDT. they are full of liars costumer service to tech dept.. they are anti muslim also…..

  19. *PLDT unable to provide 5mbps, lowers Xcel Plan to 3mbps*

Without informing their customers, PLDT has once again decided to change their speed plans, and have admitted they couldn’t provide dedicated 5mbps in the first place. And so now, the highest plan has been lowered to 3mbps.

I also called PLDT today and asked them wtf exactly was going on and the guy I spoke to pretty much said the same thing, the network just can’t handle dedicated 5mbps connections for some people, so they decided to drop the so called 5mbps plan.

    Worse ISP in the world.

http://www.pldtdsl.net to check out the site for yourself and see the revised speed plans

  20. Please I have had DSL now for more then 6months & it has been real bad, Slow, dropping can’t even wath the yahoo news vedios as it on/off flickering drive me nuts not only yahoo but all new vedio players so I know it is the DSL line. I live in Maigao Iloilo we must go thriugh a non pldt office it is a private company if you live here in the area. you know there name. but if you live in this area & have the same problem please drop me a e-mail or just sign the guest book at our website once I get enough people we can voice ourself as one to the local carrier office “OK

    God bless All
    Joe Cordero

  21. haay…
it’s not the speed in our place but the service! Got dsl connection in April and lost service for two months without rebate!! Got connected again in Aug and lost it again early Nov until now.. 172 is a tape recorder so don’t bother. The heck with PLDT.. do I have a choice? 🙁

  22. I may have posted on this site before so I won’t bother repeating what problems I’m having (still) with MyDSL. We all seem to have the same problems. There has to be something we can do about this mess! I had to go to the internet cafe down the street to check my email! Does anyone have any ideas as to what we can do?

  23. pldt kuha ng kuha ng customers, wala namang facilities to offer. ang dami kinukuha applicants for lines, tapos wala na palang available cabinets.

next thing they will do, hahapin ang nearest unwilling victim hahanapan ng butas para maputulan ng linya, gagamitin ang kabinet settings para sa new client tapos tatagain ng reconnecting fees and penalties ang old subsciber.

sa unang tingin palang, nag-hahanap na sila ng paraan magkaroon ng pera. not to mention sunod sunod ang cost cutting nila. di kaya luga na sila and still trying to maintain an image of strength pero sa loob ay inaamag na sila?

then ito na ang punch line, in a span of 3-6 months (di pa tapos ang lock down period ng new subscriber) ay uulitin nanaman ang ang racket or modus operandi na ito. from land line to dsl and smart bro connection pareho ang system ng panloloko.

and incase ang new subscriber di makitahan ng butas, sisiguraduhin mahina ang service para madismaya at umalis or end and service before lock down period, oo nga naman. KIKITA SILA SA PENALTY CHARGES AND DO THE SAME THING TO THE NEXT UNWILLING VICTIM. eg tagal ng repairman, outdated payments, Parati Lang or waLang Dial Tone, or walang dsl signal.

then if bayaran na, may kulang papala!!!! ang sa liit ng P500 they will get a law office to charge you!!!!??? wow mas mahal ang ang professional fee manalo or matalo. patulan mo, gagastos ka rin. GEEEEEEZZZZZZZ.

    THEY ARE SICK

ginawa nila ito sa isang kalye sa tondo and nilagay na non payers and blacklisted buong block!!!!! thats odd!!!!!! pero mga nakatira doon mayaman at middle class. naku PLDT MAGSARA KA NA

WALANG PERPEKTONG COMMUNICATION SERVICE KAHIT CELLPHONE. PERO PLDT DI KA MIGHTY AND MAKAPANGYARIHAN. BULOK KA NA THAT IS WHY KUMIKITA ANG IBANG PROVIDERS.

  24. i have the same problem, i been at full speed(25-30kBps) on bittorent for 2 weeks now im slower than dial-up(0-5kBps)……….

  25. mine just really sucks 54kbps, ilang beses na ako tumawag sa ang sabi nila bibilis din daw in two weeks, e one month na ganun parin!!!!

  26. Ive trying to let out an email with a 3mb attachment (using outlook) using plddsl servers….

Why the F can’t it go through? Is there an attachment limit that was implemented sometime? anybody have the same problem? The normal text messages go through fine. And if there was a limit, shouldnt the messages go back to me, so I know that the recipient did not get it?!?!

I pay 3k per month for access plus email, and my girlfriend uses 999 smartbro, and gets impeccable service with gmail…for frikkin free…

    nampuch naman pldt.

  27. I know PLDT really sucks. I don’t know if I will just keep quiet for their service because I got the 990 plan which promises a 348kps, or if not I will be thankful for 254kbps. I endure a 66 kbps for almost one year with down times. But this month I noticed that the speed increased to 200+kbps and that made me happy coz I thought they have fixed them problem but the frequent disconnections gave me a lot of head ache.

I reported to customer service about the problem and told me that it will be forwarded to their technical support after discussing with them and made some idiotic testing “kuno” on my modem telling me to turn it on and off 3 times. They always insist that there was a problem on my telephone connection which I think is not the problem because I can access the internet for long hours without disconnections a few times. I can also access using the dial up connection with no problem. I suspect the server can’t handle the load of the many subscribers. Hope the expand their facilities first before inviting customers.

  28. PLDT: thank u for calling pldt ds s blahblahblahblah how may i help u

  29. Any positive feedbacks regarding PLDT MyDSL service?

Actually, I just paid for the modem last week and they told me that the landline and the internet will be installed within 3 days. But darn, up to this moment, take note, 1 week has passed and there’s no plans yet whatsoever of the installation.

I called and made follow ups twice everyday and they are saying that they had some problems on their side. There is already somebody from PLDT handling my installation but I want to push it to the next level.

What I meant is to ask for compensation and stuff to make up for their stupidity. I am working at a call center and we do keep our promises when it comes to turn around time and other timeframes. We dont want to mess with our customers and we do value them so much that if there is like a delay in the timeframe and the customer wanted to be compensated, then we give compensations.

With this, it’s as if there is already a problem at the start of the service of PLDT. I am having second thoughts of continuing my subscription. I will be giving them a deadline. If within this week and nothing happens, PLDT just lost one customer, that is me. And I also want to let the whole world know how their services sucked and give file lawsuits against that company.

If you know any government or private organization who can help me out voice the inconveniences from the company, please feel free to email me at xthisworksx@yahoo.co.uk. I want to contact the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of the United States but I dont think their jursidiction applies here.

Anyways, I will be waiting for your suggestions and feedbacks.

    Thanks.

    – Mr. Ubuntu

  30. bad3p na dsl yan…
laging napuputol ung connection, kailangan pa itawag para magkaron. araw araw ganito, pano kaya ako makakapaglaro ng online games nyan kung laging mapuputol hehehe..

  31. I am enjoying my PLDT Plan 990 for over two weeks now. And so far everything is going alright. The Plan 990 as being advertised should be able to perform a Speed of (up to) 384 Kbps. But mine had an actual download speed of 8135 Kbps and 490 Kbps the first day!!(via http://www.speedtest.net) The next few days the download limit went down to 3900 Kbps which is still 10X more than the advertised Speed and the upload limit went 390 Kbps. By the way I am using Vista Ultimate (with Service Pack 1) I really do not know if this affects the bandwidth I am using.

    PS: To All SmartBro Users!!
Please be informed that there are unscrupulous SmartBro contractors that sells Broadband Antenna including the Username and Password of their previous clients. Resulting to SmartBro Updated Subscriber not being able to use their own account!
So if it is possible change your Password immediately!

  32. Pagong ang download! masaya kana kung 32kbps speed for downloading! Bumababa pa! PLDT is a piece of CRAP!

  33. nagtataka nga ako sa dsl ko plan 990 so 384 kbps pero pag nagda-download ako gamit utorrent eh parang may limit mga 45 kbps lang ang naabot kahit maraming seed and peers eh sa ibang shop naman na same speed nung sa akin eh umaabot ng 100kbps may download limit ba sila na inaapply s nag-totorrent

  34. Hey guys. I just wanted to share my experience with PLDT and how to deal with them. I have been dealing with PLDT personnels for almost a year now regarding my DSL connection and plan. I am subscribed to their Professional Plan (Plan 3000). By then, when I applied for it, they offered a speed of up to 5Mbps. Take note – 5 Mbps. After signing up for this plan, about 2 months later, they changed it to Plan 3000 to a speed of up to 3 Mbps.

Before I applied for that plan, I specifically asked them the difference of the 3 different plans they offer – Plan 999, 1995 and 3000. They said that each of them has a different speed levels which is “up to” 1 Mbps for the plan 999, 2 Mbps for plan 1995 and 3Mbps for plan 3000. But take note of the words “up to”. I told them that I don’t care about the maximum speed they can deliver but what my concern is the “minimum guaranteed speed” that each plan offers because that what makes it differs from each of the plans.

So, the person in charge and another person from manila and another from cebu told me that the minimum guaranteed speed that I should be getting is 70% of the plan signed up for and an average of 80% speed all through out if my location is or about 1 KM from the port.

Luckily for me, I am within 1 KM from the PLDT central office from which my DSL is connected. Unfortunately, with the plan that I signed up for, they can only deliver of less than 1.5 Mbps (test taken from the PLDT play which they have currently overhauled to give the “accurate” speed)which is still far below the 3.5 Mbps guaranteed speed.

But before this scenario, the pldt play and the speedtest.net singapore sever registered a very high output for my speed which ranged from 4 Mbps to 6 Mbps even if my connection was very slow. I could tell that my connection was slow due to the video(s) in youtube, ebaumsworld, etc. that they keep on buffering. (Don’t get me wrong, I have a little program running if i browse the net and I have a fast speed computer with dual core 64 bit processor and 2 GB memory.) And to some of my test sites in which I have a benchmark of the speed every hour, (like testmy.net, 2wire.com, etc.) they show a very consistent speed. During peak hours, the testmy.net and 2wire.com show speed that’s almost consistent with my browsing but PLDT play and speedtest.net singapore sever shows a different story otherwise. No matter what time of day, PLDT play and singapore server showed a consistent of 4 Mbps – 6 Mbps speed. But that has changed all now. Singapore server and PLDT play is quite consistent with the testmy.net results.

Enough for that, if you have complains about your DSL, make sure you know the terms or computer lingos or have somebody who knows computer very well to talk to the PLDT “network engineers”. You should demand that you need an “engineer” to fix your problem and not a “trained technician” of PLDT. A lot of their trained technicians don’t really know what they are doing. They will just give you “alibis” to satisfy you or give explanations which is actually not related to the problem you might be experiencing. You, as a subscriber and don’t know much about the networking, you tend to just accept their alibis. And in most cases, if the problem persists, what most of the technicians do is just tell you to reset your modem, turn off your computer or simply they will just reset the port of connection where your DSL is connected. You have to bear in mind though, that any resetting WILL ONLY SOLVE THE PROBLEM “TEMPORARILY”. If the problem is in the connection or the hardware or software which is most likely, the problem will still persist over time. The engineers should locate the real cause of the problem and fix it – not patch it by just pressing the reset button or powering down your system.

Another thing, if you call their 171 or 172 support, be sure to log every phone calls you make. Make a spreed sheet that logs your call – date and time of call, agent you talk to, nature of call, comment regarding the call, etc. This is very helpful for future reference especially if you apply for a rebate.

According to PLDT that they don’t issue rebate if the problem did not last longer than 24 hours. But this is a very bad practice. You as a paying customer, you should demand for a rebate regardless you were down for 1 hour, 2 hours or whatever – as long as you have a service interruption. Let us put this into logic, if they don’t give rebates to customers to a problem that did not persist for more than 24 hours, then they can interrupt their service for 23 hours a day and give you only 1 hour of service daily. Will it be fair enough for you especially if you are paying the full amount every month? The amount you are paying every month for your DSL service should be uninterrupted service for 24/7.

You should call the 171-53 (log your call again) and apply for a rebate. If you have slow connection, complain and ask for rebates too. Tell the PLDT that you are not getting the service you are paying for.

I hope every one will do what I am suggesting and advising. I need every one to do their share so at least PLDT will improve their service. Right now, I am getting a regular/monthly rebate of more than P2000 until they fix the problem.

Hope this information will help you all.

  35. juz bumped into this blog, i must agree to all of you because im the newest victim of the telco mafia.I applied for installation last fri.and got my service last saturday because my neighbor is working for pldt for 16 years and he is a line man so he personally assisted me.The people working in the processing of the applications are are paid in commission’s, there is no basic salary. the reason i said it because they keep on trying to close me for the plan 999 which is not really 999, you will be charged php1,700.00 every month on top of the dsl + landline anyways so they keep on upgrading mo so they can make more money saying that the plan 990 is not available in our area aside from the high priced plans, i said i don’t want anything but the plan 990 and i found out from my neighbor that it is available that the girl who is in charge of my application is just trying to scheme. to make things worse after 1 day of experiencing the so called high speed dsl they provide my landline was not working after 6pm from yesterday and went back noon today and got lost again same time yesterday. i want to ask any plan990 subscriber if this is normal? if it is… goddamn pldt
    good luck to all

  36. People who have download speeds up to 45kB/s are still fortunate. I’m experiencing a max download speed of only 5kB/s..

as far as i know, having the 384kbps plan of PLDT MyDSL doesn’t mean that you’ll get to download at that rate. that is the problem with pldt, its “384kbps” supposed-to-be rate is ambiguous. Kb/s (Kilo BITS per second) is very different from kB/s (the download speed measured at kiloBYTES per second)

Sabi talaga nung results sa TESTMY.net, “ouch, are you on Dial up.. etc” ang score ko 0.5/5 stars. waw, nagscore pa xa. adik.

  37. helo everyone!.

I am a smartbro connected for 1year and 7 months now with the speed of 348kbps..with the past months my connection slower down but it doesnt reach to a point that i couldnt even open mails..well now i get the real speed..i have plans to change it to Pldt Mydsl with the landline because as u will see its a good 0ffer..but when i saw your comments here guys..now i think i wont go for it anymore…one thing is for sure PLDT doenst have a good facilities even before they were offering this internet connection even to my landline phone..thats sucks!so now my mind has been cleared up..

  38. “NO” to Pldt dsl!!!! Talking about PLDT is a nightmare for me lately when i asked them for a DSL connection, it was a 990 DSL Plan i sign for and paid Php.1,200.00 for the modem, upon payment my receipt was issued and told me connection will be settled w/in a week. To be exact it was already 10 days and no PLDT DSL showed up!!!! I started to get disappointed upon hearing other DSL business around my area can service the same day, and how business friendly and prompt they are…..so to make all this details short i called their office to stop the work order(i already paid) and told them to just return my money back…and it’s another BIG disappointment that the PLDT told me refund will be issued to me after six months. Totally a crappy, lousy PLDT DSL system….sucks!!!! I agree w/ all the reviews of unhappy customers i have read on the net about PLDT. If they continue to be LOUSY, they’ll loose business 🙁
To customer in need of internet service, no to PLDT DSL.

  39. I have a plan 990 bundle from PLDT since Jan of 2008. At first it was ok, surfing is fine but when I get to use torrent, it was NOT enough. AS advertised, max speed is 384kbps, at speedtest.net, I get an ave of 250kbps, divide it by 8 to get kBps w/c is around 31kBps, my download speed in bit torrent – this is slow – swerte pa kung nasa 30kBps. I looked at globe plans and they have a bundle at 1Mbps at P1300. Problema naka lock yung pldt namen up to 1 year, damn. sana when it comes to these packages ang lock-in eh 6 months lang, para naman mag improve sila ng services nila.

  40. MY PLDT DSL (SUCKS!!) TOO SLOW weak CONNECTION AND (ALWAYS DISCONNECT)when you call customer support they wil repeat what other says..and service is slow..cuz they SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  41. yup, pldt’s customer service is the worst. I have the plan xperience which promises 1mbps (in theory) but practically it delivers only half of what it promises and the tech guy that came to our home only did one thing.. used the speedtest in their site. Then told us everything was fine. That the speed is “allowable”. Allowable my ass! how can they say that when you get the half the speed of what you actually paid for. And its not like im living in the southern regions of the phil either! im from manila and the way they treat customers are stupid! the customer hotline is no help either. I think that the agents there are either ojt students or total noobs! >,<

  42. i believe that everyone in the pldt my dsl costumer’s hotline talks like a parrot.. coz… they only repeat what they they said when you complain about your DSL Connection… They not just SUCKS!!!! They are way worse… thank God i am a month away from my one year nightmare of their service.. so Guys Out there… getting a pldt service…THINK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. yeah i agree this damn myDSl of pldt suck so much, errr we pay for like 1400 for 1mbps net and landline and what we get? a fuckin slow 50/kpbs per sec download , realy suck! because it must be 100-300kpbs per sec when i compare it on other internet service they only pay for like 500 and its like our speed already WTF and only a 500kpbs or somelike. Well We All Know that PLDT only gives their BIG RUN on new customers and after 3-10 days ur SPEED WILL SUCK.

  44. Hello smartbro, this is the nth time I would raise this issue.
You are blocking 95 % of the websites!! We can not effectively use your service.

Please give us credit. You can’t just take money off people and provide lousy service. That is not good business practice.

I have emailed you August 13, text Smart Support many times too at # 0918 500 3000.
I have also visited your office in Robinsons Galleria last week but the your service worsened and nobody bothered to call us to tell us how to fix it.

What’s going on? If you can not provide service then stop advertising it. You are cheating the people.

  45. Diyos Ko Naman PLDT Ayusin Niyo Naman Serbisyo Ninyo.. Hindi Maganda Ehh… Ayus Ayusin Nyo Ahh?? Sobrang Bagal Talaga Ehh… Sana Lang Nababasa Nyo Toh!!

  46. I agree with all of you that PLDT DSL sucks big time and so does smart bro. I was a smart bro subscriber but because of their crappy connection, i switched to PLDT. sad to say, wala silang pinagka-iba! we need more DSL service providers in this country para naman ayusin ng PLDT at smart bro ang serbisyo nila!
