hi. im scheduled to take my nclex in manila on oct 3. im looking for a hotel that’s not really so expensive and high-end, as long as its near trident tower. which hotel is the nearest? is there like a hotel that’s right beside trident tower or across? cus i dont really want to spend much time worrying about travelling to my test place. the lesser the stress the better.

@ everybody interested in taking NCLEX. check this site http://www.nursingreview.org, it has different application forms for different states and instructions as well.

@sonia & everyone else: everyday there is an exam, m-f. go to http://www.pearsonvue.com/nclex to check out available slots.

@ronald: the nclex fee is $200. if u take ur exam in a country outside US, u pay an additional $150. and when you submit your papers for evaluation to get eligibility, i think there are different rates for different states. i applied for cali, i paid $107 for that. and another P3000 for sending my papers through fedex and lbc.

erratum: EVERYDAY there is an exam, even on weekends. thats sunday-saturday. but usually weekends are almost always occupied. you can call the number for scheduling m-f 8-5 AET. the call center is in australia and if im right we’re 2 hours ahead of them.

1. gather all the docus needed (TOR, finger print, applicatpion form, diploma, pic)
2. send all in #1 to sacramento
3. wait for the ATT.

after getting the ATT, is that the only time to be able to register? the 1 that makes the web account? is that for the pearson vue? in order to get a slot shedule for the exam?

Hi, my sister-in-law just finished a nursing degree in the Philippines. We gave her a check for the NCLEX authorization and fingerprint fees. The check cleared our account on September 13…does that generally mean there are no more problems, and it is only a matter of time? We filed with California board of nursing. hi, if you really want to know more about the application for nclex go directly to ncsbn.org. download the form and let the your school sign the portion provided for them to fill up for you. example:(cali application) Apply for authenticated diploma,tor, rle summary, photocopied license. Go get/buy a bank draft depending on the amount required for the state you applied for,one for the fingerprint and another for the application fee. Dont forget to request for a fingerprint card from the state you applied in( it may take weeks), and send it into two packets. One from your school and the other from you. If you are rushing ask the school if they can seal it for you and youll be the one sending for faster application. Next step wait for eligibility. If you cant pay for your att. (Some says you can immediately, others say you need to wait for eligib.)(coz im still waiting for my eligibity too)

Hi! I have read your comments/queries about NCLEX. I have finished my application and scheduled my exam. I just want to help my fellow RNs to apply for NCLEX. Thanks

1. For those who wish to apply for California Board of Registered Nursing, you can view their website (www.rn.ca.gov) for the requirements and processing.

2. You can take the NCLEX even if you do not have a license as an RN in the Philippines BUT you should have a explanation letter indicating the reason why you don’t have a license.

3. After you are found eligible to take the NCLEX, you will register at Pearson vue (www.pearsonvue.com/nclex), then that’s the time that you can view the slots available @ Pearson vue centers.

4.NCLEX is NOT like the NLE wherein it is only offered 2x a year… NCLEX is offered almost everyday except on Saturdays and Sundays and special holidays.

Hi! I just got my eligibility letter and I’m planning to take my exam this year too. Unfortunately,I think we all need to call pearson vue for the schedule of examinations worldwide. and for those who want to get the necessary requirements for NCLEX-RN in different states, u need to go to the websites of the state u want to apply in. like in California: go to http://www.rn.ca.gov
You can visit this site to get all the links to the different board of nursing, but I think you need to register to view this link: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/482270
Otherwise, just google the US state you want to apply in and search for their board of nursing sites.

Hi Andrew,
thanks a million for posting this blog. It help me alot in setting up my sister’s NCLEX in september. Hats off to you and am pretty sure you helped so many people. For those who wants to start preparing for the NCLEX, best thing to do is to log into the CGFNS website at http://www.CGFNS.org and download the necessary paperwork. You need to fill up an application for a CES-its a credential evaluation that you have to coordinate with your school in order for them to give you an eligibility letter to go ahead and apply for the board of nursing in the states. It will take a few months to get a response but once CGFNS receives your documentation needed, they will send you a CGFNS card with your ID number on it and that you can use to follow up your status. You also have to choose the state where you want to enter so that you know what are the requirements needed because some states require CGFNS certification and some dont. Just just research it. As far as i know Board of nursing in Massachusettes dont need the certificate and Kentucky and New york dont need it. But just confirm that info. Let me know if i could be of any help.

Brenda, NCLEX stands for National Council Licensure examination, a board exam required for nurses to be able to work in the US. To work in any other country, they may have their own specially designed licensing examination as well. To be able to work in the Philippines as a licensed nurse, you need to pass the Philippine NLE (Nursing Licensure Exam).

Why not try to call them for the available dates?

The process as far as I know is, you have to apply to the board of nursing then they will send you the eligibilty letter(Not yet the so called ATT).

You have to register at pearson vue and pay $200 for that. THen you will get a confirmation email(not yet the ATT) from pearson vue. After your eligibilty has been confirmed, they will send the ATT thru email, if you provided one. They say it will take about 2-4weeks and some in a few minutes.

After getting the ATT, you need to schedule for the test and pay another $150 for the test center.

hi! im taking nclex here in the phil.where should i register ?how much are the fees and what are the requirements?as i surfed through the net and i read about choosing which state i want to be licensed ,im a bit confused about it…any suggestions of what is the state is best to choose to be licensed?is there such as scheduling fee aside from the registration fee? pls. help! thank you!

Andrew, I think Tiara Oriental Hotel is the cheapest hotel in Makati that nursing student can afford but was not mention here. Also Tiara Oriental is close to Gil Puyat so that will be huge savings for the students.
