Just want to announce that I’ve recently updated my Wordpress Guestbook Generator plugin. It’s now compatible with the newest 2.1 version of Wordpress.
I’ve been hearing about the PageRank update for more than a month, but it was only through the spankin’ new SEO Philippines forums that I realized it was officially showing up on my browser toolbar.
This article’s title speaks for itself. This is the best ever PR update in the world! Haha.
My homepage at www.alleba.com stays put at PR6, but our web directory is now PR7 (ting ning ning!). My blog also got some PR TLC, it’s now at PR6. And looks like my Dota Allstars strategy site scored a beyond godlike streak with a PR5!
Whew. I probably need to do a bit of celebrating later. And thanks to those of you who linked to me … and of course, Google.
Yuga’s Blog Parteeh `07 is shaping up to be the party of all parties as far as the Filipino blogosphere is concerned. I just wished it wasn’t as logistically inconvenient as it is to go — it’s going to be held in Makati City, but I’m in Davao City. What am I to do? I feel like the uninvited nerd in the thick glasses, plaid shirt and white sneakers (excuse me if you dress this way). I’d *like* to organize something similar, but bloggers are a rare species here in my lovely city. There’s probably only 20 of us tops, and I know only less than half of them. *Sigh*. Oh well. I certainly would like to get my paws on the 30gig iPod that’s being raffled off, or maybe just a box of Krispy Kremes. I don’t care. I wanna go. But. I. Can’t. On January 28th, I’m going to stave off temptation to read other Pinoy blogs and see what an enormously great time they had eating free food, lengthening blogrolls and eating tasty donuts. Damn!! For those of you reading this… pretend I was there and you actually met my pleasant self. Add me to your blogroll, will ya?

Touted as “a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet communications device”, the Apple iPhone uses a touchscreen navigation and comes with the Safari browser, integrated Google search and maps, free Yahoo push IMAP email (a la BlackBerry), runs OSX and widgets. The big let-down is that Apple struck an exclusive deal with Cingular Wireless, which will start selling the phone in June 2007 with a binding 2-year contract. Worse, it won’t reach Asian markets till 2008! But I’m sure the black market will somehow get its hands on it soon enough, IMO. iPhone will set you back $499 for the 4GB model and $599 for 8GB. For sure, this is the phone that’ll replace my Sony Ericsson W800i.

One of the biggest challenges I face as a webmaster is optimizing my sites for search engines, onsite and offsite. Offsite SEO is the toughest. I try to stay away from spending money on SEO just because I pretend that my budget restricts me from doing so. However, learning the hard way, I realized that free SEO can only get you so far especially if you’re after something that’s more specific and targeted.

The earthquake in Taiwan is really taking its toll on my ability to run my websites. My apologies to those who emailed me. I can’t help you out until I resolve my connectivity problems. It took me 15 minutes for the “Create New Post” to load! I hope this post gets published by tomorrow!
